Individual Counseling: This type of counseling is one-on-one with the therapist to discuss, analyze, and “sort out” problems and issues in the client’s life.
Couples Counseling: This counseling is used when there are problems in a relationship. A typical problem in relationships is communication; either miscommunication or lack of communication.
Family Counseling: This form of counseling is used when there are problems / issues among multiple generations of a family.
The goals of this therapy are:
- To lessen mental health difficulties, or to develop coping skills.
- Improve client’s confidence and self esteem.
- Gain a better understanding of emotions, and learn strategies to express emotions in a more healthy way.
- Understand our behaviors and actions, and why we behave the way we do.
